Your Questions  about Play Therapy Sessions

Where do I start? How do I make an appointment?

The best way to begin is for you to send me an email, we can then plan an initial phone call or meeting. There is no cost for this first discussion. Once I understand more about what you need, we can explore whether I can offer the right kind of support.

What kind of support do you offer?

I am a BAPT registered Play Therapist. I specialise in deepening the bonds of attachment. I work on a bespoke and integrative basis, responding to your family's needs. I can offer infant and family based Play Therapy sessions as well as 1.1 Play Therapy sessions with older children and young people.

I offer trauma-informed Play Therapy sessions designed to follow the needs of the infant, child and their family, including creative, sensory, story, sand tray, water, outdoor play, nurturing touch, movement and yoga play together.

What sort of things can Play Therapy help with?

Reasons for referral might include trauma recovery, attachment and bonding related difficulties, bereavement, anxiety, stress, emotional regulation and big feelings...alongside a wide range of other issues. Referrals are also welcome during pregnancy.

For further information please read the British Association of Play Therapists 'What is Play Therapy?' page. You can also learn more on the InsideOutsideTherapy Instagram page.

How much do Play Therapy sessions cost?

Family Play Therapy Sessions and 1.1 Play Therapy Sessions cost £60 per session.

There is no charge for the Initial Telephone Consultation. Observation & Assessment sessions cost £60 per session. An Assessment Report can be provided at a cost of £120.

You have two payment plan options, either monthly or pay as you go. If you choose to pay monthly I will invoice you with an online payment link in advance at the beginning of each month. If you choose to pay as you go I will send you an online payment link weekly in advance of each session. You can also choose to pay in cash. On receipt of payment the Play Therapy session is then confirmed. Please just let me know which option suits you.

How long does it take?

Each Play Therapy session lasts 50 minutes. A minimum of 4 assessment sessions are recommended. Further Play Therapy sessions are planned and agreed in collaboration with you. A minimum of 10 Play Therapy sessions is recommended and further sessions for more significant difficulties can be planned together.
